MaxHomeBits.comScared to Get Started in a Home Based Business? Looking at Big Ticket to Wealth? by Michael Liberatore
* First off, what if the opportunity I am researching is a scam? Unfortunately, there are a lot of scams out there and they do not have a disclaimer on their website that says "bad opportunity, don't sign up today!" Luckily, these do not last very long and there are less than you think. It is in people's nature to be pessimistic and doubt everything to prevent someone pulling a fast one on them. People will find one reason to not pursue an opportunity even if there are 100 reasons to go forward. Simply put, do your research. Find out what you can about the CEO of the company, the pay and the products. There are independent reviews out there. If a company has ripped someone off, they will complain and you will find it. A word to the wise, always get both sides of the story.
* Six figures from home, that must be too good to be true! And for many people it is. Many online opportunities do not even boast of this type of income. If you are looking for steady, low paying opportunities in things like data entry or licking envelopes, they are certainly available online. On the flip side, websites that do claim this type of income can oftentimes back it up. There is a lot of money to be made online. Don't ever underestimate that. Just because you may not personally know someone that is making this type of income, does not mean that people don't do it everyday. If you do not associate with people that make that kind of money and you would like to, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your social circle
. * What will my friends think? What about my spouse? I can answer that right now. Most of them will be hesitant. They will tell you that you are making a bad decision. This is because they don't want to see you get hurt, either by a scam, or not being successful. This is where you need to have a little belief in yourself that you are a talented individual and that you will be successful. Once your friends and family see that success, they will gravitate to it, and you. Trust me. And Im sure your spouse won't complain about the extra income either.
* What about my current job? Well, if it was that great, what are you doing reading this? You obviously aspire to something better. Id like to say that I cannot understand why someone would stay in a bad situation or a dead end job, trying to make ends meet when there are better opportunities readily available, but I was guilty of that myself. I went 2 years of hating my job (2 years I wont get back) before I made the switch. I justified it by thinking things would get better, and that I was making good money, but in the end it was not worth the stress and the damage to my quality of life.
* What will I do for income if this does not succeed? A great piece of advice that I got was to never have a Plan B, because Plan A will never work. The point being, if you are already prepared with a "fall-back" option, then your chances of succeeding decrease dramatically. Six-figure incomes and millionaires are not made overnight, even online. Be prepared to learn and work and you will be successful. Over time, that success increases exponentially. * I don't know anything about working online, will I receive the proper training? I was surprised to find that this was the most common question that I receive. I thought all anyone would ask about is the money.
Here is my response. Get a good mentor! When you start an online business, you will be at the mercy of your mentor (the man or woman who signs you up) for a time until you learn the tricks of the trade and become self-sufficient. Be sure to partner up with someone you are comfortable with and can trust. This is no different than when you interview for a job. If you think the boss is a jerk and does not care about you, do you want to work at that office? Me neither. Personally speaking, I had little to no experience marketing online. What was lucky for me was that I started with a great company that provided me with all the tools I needed to succeed. It was probably even enough to succeed without my mentor, who was great as well.
I hope this helps to address some of the fears or anxieties you may have had in regards to starting an online business. Maybe it is not for everyone. For me, it has been wonderful. I only wish I had gotten off the fence a little sooner. My final piece of advice is this:
If you are not happy with your current situation, financially or emotionally, then take a step and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Nothing is going to just happen, it starts with you. If you are going to begin your future with an online business, stop waiting and GET STARTED. I can tell you it will be a weight lifted from your shoulders.

10 Power-Packed Ways To Spark Your Sales
1. Spend money on targeted advertising instead of mass media advertising. You don't want to waste your ad dollars on people who aren't interested.
2. Increase your profits by concentrating on small details. Improving small things like text size, colour, or graphics can really make a positive difference.
3. Keep your offers flexible. If you offer a set price for your product, you could offer the people that can't afford it an optional payment plan.
4. Offer your knowledge or consulting as a bonus product. You could offer a free 15 or 30 minute consultation. This will add value to your product.
5. Personalize all your e-mail messages so they get read. Include the recipient's name in the subject line. This will grab peoples attention quickly.
6. Keep your web site consistent. You don't want to keep things on your web site that are unrelated to the theme of your web site.
7. Attract more subscribers to your free e-zine by giving them free bonuses like e-books, software, online services and other incentives.
8. Sell advertising space in your e-zine and on your web site. This will create an extra income stream for your business.
9. Make your web site ready for the public. Have an "About Us" page and clear descriptions of what actions you want your visitors to take.
10. Don't just start advertising everywhere, plan out your marketing. Locate places and publications that your target audience would congregate around.
A Home Based Business Means Quick, Easy Money...And Pigs Will Fly
MaxHomeBits.comWhere does it ever end? I've been involved with Internet-based home businesses for several years and I continue to be exposed to a seemingly endless barrage of offers (all costing me money, ofcourse) claiming to be "the secret" for making a fantastic income, in a very short time, and with very little effort involved.
I must admit that I may have a slightly self-serving reason for
addressing this topic. My articles are published on my
home-based business websites for the purpose of trying to give
prospective team members a true sense of what is really involved
with starting and developing a successful home based business.
The self-serving part, I suppose, is that I want people joining
my team to have the straight scoop going in so that we don't
waste each other's time. I admit to being selfish in this
regard (I don't want to waste time working with people that have
unrealistic expectations), but it is also very efficient for
both parties involved, so it is not a totally one-way thing.
Now, back to the topic at hand. There's no magic here, folks.
Once you have selected the home business that you are going to
pursue, there are no substitutes for time and effort in
developing your business. A dream of being an "overnight
success" is just that, a dream.
I can tell you from personal experience, that once you "pay your
dues" and begin to have real success with a home based business,
it is really terrific. Think about Nirvana or Valhalla, take
your pick, but in any event it's really sweet.
When I started developing a home based business, making a good
income was obviously an objective, but I also had other
sub-objectives. One of the most important things was to have
nearly total time flexibility (I mean, if I was willing to
continue to wear the 9-5 Mon-Fri collar I could just have just
stayed in the previously "traditional" work force).
Time flexibility was (and still is) a "biggie" for me. Many
people working at home have the same need for various reasons.
For work at home moms, a home business can be a real godsend to
accommodate the hectic time pressures, particularly when the kids
are quite young and mom is also spelled "transportation".
In my own particular case, the reason is not quite so noble...I
just want (need?) to be able to pick up my fly rod and go fishing
at a moment’s notice (sometimes I'll be gone for a week or two at
a time, but now the business has enough momentum that it keeps on
operating just as well as if I were here tending to it on a
daily basis).
Bear in mind, I am only able do the breakaway thing now that I
have put in all the up-front time and effort and now have
developed enough kinetic energy in my home-based Internet
business to be able to enjoy the fruits of my labour.

Home Based Ideas
Writing articles for other websites. Again, no special skills required. You don't need to be a published author; you don't even need to be good at writing! You can be stumped by spelling, perplexed by punctuations, and absolutely grim at Grammar but you can still make a living by writing, yes, it's not all articles. There's demand for things like putting together useful resources, browsing through various websites in a particular niche and compiling a list of the best ones, collecting phone numbers off various sites in a particular industry and building a directory, and various other opportunities that don't require a PhD in English Lit).
Running a website or a web based business. No! You do not need to be an expert in anything web related. You don't even need to know a lot about computers or how to build/manage websites. The trick is to identify what exactly you are good at, what you like doing, and open your mind to ways you can make money out of it. Or find someone who's already done it and buy him out.
